The focus of the Institute of Media and Imaging Technology is on three different fields. Media technology deals thematically with questions of media production (video, film, sound, graphics, Internet) and the underlying technologies such as recording, storage, transmission, performance (display) and systems technologies. A special focus is on high-definition television (HDTV) and interactive television (iTV). In the field of imaging technology the focus is on digital image-producing systems (still pictures), colour technology and management, image processing and digital reproduction (prepress) and on associated process workflows. Another focus is on radiological image production and micro- lithography.The artistic/creative division of the institute deals with photographic image design, audiovision and advertising photography. In summary, the institute has the following fields of expertise: Media production technology (film, video, sound, Internet) Television and audiovisual media technology, display technology Digital reproduction Phototechnology Digital image processing/ Colour technology and management/ Photographic image design, audiovision, advertising photography. Radiological image production in medicine and in NDT/ Microlithography.
